Confirmation

Confirmation is a sacrament of initiation celebrated in the 8th grade and later here in the diocese of Charlotte. Baptized Catholics who have not completed their initiation can begin discernment about their readiness to enter a process of preparation leading to the celebration of Confirmation.

Preparation includes two consecutive years in a formal catechetical process in the parish or Catholic school prior to immediate preparation for the liturgical celebration. Immediate preparation, in the form of monthly Confirmation classes, takes place in conjunction with the 1st and 2nd year of the catechetical process.
