Father Michael has been the pastor at Holy Family since July of 2001. He was formerly the pastor of Saint Francis Of Assisi in Lenoir, North Carolina for seven years. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and ordained in 1978. Father was a professed member of the Benedictines for twenty years and served as Registrar of Belmont Abbey College for fifteen years prior to moving into the ministry full time for the Diocese of Charlotte.

Reverend Fred M. Werth, Jr., Parochial Vicar

Father Fred M. Werth Jr. was born in Radford, Virginia.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Virginia Military Institute, and a law degree from the University of Virginia; he studied for the priesthood at Blessed John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, Massachusetts. Father Fred served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a trial lawyer.  He was married to his Catholic high school sweetheart for thirty two years until her passing in 2002.  Together they raised three children who gave them five grandchildren.  Raised Presbyterian, he converted to Catholicism in 1989. 

Reverend Mr. Gerard Schumacher, Deacon

Jerry has been part of Holy Family parish since 1991. He and his late wife, Mary Ellen have seven grown children and eight grandchildren. Jerry was ordained as a Permanent Deacon in 1988. He frequently attends daily Mass and conducts Communion Services in the absence of our parish priests.

Vicki joined our parish in 1996 after relocating from New Jersey. She and her husband, Len, have two children, Christopher, who attends college, and Katlyn who attends Bishop McGuiness High School. Vicki is in full charge of the administrative work of the parish including facilities scheduling and maintenance, priest's schedules, payroll and accounts payable. She is involved in all aspects of parish work.
