Hello Families of Holy Family:
We are excited to be your new Holy Family Moms’ Group leaders for the 2009-2010 year. We are grateful to Michelle Cowart, Cynthia Ingle, and Lani Szeremeta for their commitment, hard work and support that they have provided us as leaders over the past year. Thank you also to Carol Anne Sowell and Connie Bigwood who coordinated Moms’ Night Out and Meals for Moms, respectively. We also would like to thank all the Moms that hosted play dates and provided the meals to families that need them. We appreciate all you have done and it was a great year. We are humbled with this new role and with your support we can have another exciting and wonderful year.
We will maintain most of the existing activities since they had served us well for most of our needs. There will just be some trials of new activities to see if they work well among us.
† Playgroup will still be every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. We will also be having one play date a month for children who are in school. The time will be at 4:00 pm. These activities will be age appropriate K-5 but your younger children a welcome to join in. This will allow children and mothers of school age children to attend our play dates. Our goal is for free or low cost activities. Other “event” play dates will be scheduled too like – Children’s Museum, Sci-Works, Shallowford Farm Popcorn tour etc...
† We will continue with the monthly breakfast for moms (with or without the kids). Still no RSVP needed, just show up! If anybody wants to host a breakfast potluck at their home, just let us know.
† We will continue the MNO on a monthly basis. Suggestions are always welcome for any new place or a twist to the dining out. Tell us about it! Kelly Hines will be coordinating this event each month and can be reached at 940-6053 or khines72@hotmail.com
† We will continue the Family Pizza Night at church with board games and other fun activities and we hope to have this back in place by October.
† We will continue to post Events Information around and nearby towns.
† We will still schedule Family Fun Day. Things like parish activities (picnic, Knights of Columbus pancake breakfasts, Fall Bazaar) and other outside fun.
† We will incorporate simple religious events - like this Sept. 8th is Mother Mary’s birthday. We’ll celebrate it on Tuesday, have the children sing Happy Birthday to Mother Mary at the grotto outside, birthday cake and make a birthday card for Mother Mary.
† We will try also on service projects if we can have one or two this year. It’s about reaching out to others. If anybody has some ideas, your help will be appreciated.
Finally, we are thankful for additional co-leaders that are willing to assist us with Moms-Night-Out –Kelly Hines and Meals for Moms Cynthia Ingle-712-4162 ingle7820@bellsouth.net. They will help to continue the service and great tradition of this group!
We’ve been touched and blessed with this group. We learned a lot just by being around everyone. We are hoping that with your support and prayers, all of us can continue to touch lives, reach out to others to offer support, guide one another with our spiritual growth and to have lasting friendships among us.
We are looking forward to serve you all and to have another wonderful year. Attached is our September calendar with our contact information. God Bless us all.
