Something About Mary
Hello families!
This month we will be commemorating motherhood, ours and our Mother in Heaven, Mary. Mary is such a shining example of what motherhood is all about. She wholeheartedly embraced motherhood despite her fears. Mary ministered to her cousin Elizabeth while she was pregnant and assisted her during her labor. She brought Jesus into the world and lovingly raised Him and learned from His wisdom. She searched for Him for three agonizing days when He was in the temple and kept her pain hidden away. Mary carried the joys and burdens of Jesus in her heart and remained steadfast and diligent in her faith in God. She was the first and last to hold Jesus in her arms. Mary continues her work in Heaven by bringing us back to Jesus in ways we really can’t completely understand. Mary loves us - as we are not only her children but the body of Christ.
Serving in the Moms’ Support and Playgroup we have witnessed within our group the embodiment of the spirit of Christ, especially with the recent tragic passing of Nicholas Leon, Andrea and Brian Leon’s baby. Our Moms’ members have embodied the love of Christ and the example of our Heavenly Mother Mary by ministering to the Leon’s during their most trying time. Thank you for all of your support, prayers, meals, monetary contributions, visits and kindness to the Leon’s. Please continue to pray for them and ask for Mary’s special intercession as she knows the heavy burden of losing a son.

MOM's Play & Support Group
Do you have young children at home? Have you been looking for a way
to meet other families while becoming more involved in the Holy Family
community? If so, the Moms' Play Group may be for you!
We are a lively and growing group of about fifty families that offer activities for Moms (Dads, too!) and their young children. Our goal is to support one another as we begin our journey as Catholic parents. We provide many opportunities to socialize and form new friendships with (and without) our children.
Our group typically meets two mornings per week with events varying from seasonal parties at Holy Family to trips to local museums and parks. Most events are geared for toddler and preschool age children as this is the core age of our group. New Moms with infants are especially invited to attend our events as well. Our monthly Moms' Night Out is a wonderful way to enjoy the company of other women in an adult setting. In addition to our busy calendar, we also coordinate Meals for Moms. This volunteer program provides dinners for our Moms who have recently had a new baby.
We invite all interested families to attend one of our events and experience the energy of this active organization.
If you would like more information or have any questions, please contact Kelly Hines at 940-6053/khines72@hotmail.com. We hope to see you soon!
