FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
The generosity of the people of Holy Family continues. Our Holiday Outreach program was an overwhelming success again this year. The love and generosity of all who participated is appreciated by so many. Because of your kindness, over 1,200 gifts were distributed and over 80 families received food for their Christmas dinner. Your willingness to help others symbolizes the true spirit of Christmas. Father Tri and I extend our heartfelt thanks to Tom and Pat Curran and everyone who works so hard to make this wonderful program possible every year.
Holy Family Sunday, the feast of our beloved parish, is a day devoted to family life with the idea that families would become imitators of the Holy Family. This last Sunday of the calendar year is a wonderful time to celebrate this feast. It’s a time to reflect on the year now drawing to a close on our successes and failures, our times of joy and sadness – and then to look ahead with hope and expectation to the possibilities of the coming year. When we look at the Holy Family we see an example of how to live our lives, how to truly have a blessed life, a blessed family. Each of us should be doing all we can to be the imitators of Jesus, Mary and Joseph so that our family will also be a Holy Family.
Friday, January 1st is the Feast of “The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God”, a holy day of obligation. We will have mass on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. and Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Father Tri and I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year. We pray that Our Lord Jesus Christ fills your lives in the coming with an abundance of blessings.
ALTAR FLOWERS-2010
We still have many openings for Altar Flowers. If you wish to remember a loved one, or honor a special occasion in 2010, please download an altar flower form from the Publications Index or contact the church office at 778-0600 Extension 200. We still need requests for: 1/24, 1/31, 2/14, 4/25, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23, 8/15, 10/31, 11/21.
THE HORSES HAVE REACHED THE STARTING GATE!
join us for “A Nite at the Races” on Saturday, January 16th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. post time 7:30 p.m. If you haven’t attended this event in the past, it is a fun night. The family center is set up with a large screen and several TV’s. You place your bet on the horse you want to “Win”, and you watch the results on the TV screen. A $20 donation for your ticket includes “Race Track Style” food and enough Play Money to bet 8 races. Winners go to the collection booth and the losers write their name on their ticket for a chance to win door prizes in between each race. We are ready for a great night of Horse Racing… all we need is YOU! Purchase tickets from Vicki at the church office or call Lenny Meyers at 529-7383.

BAPTISMS
Baptisms are performed on the first and third Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. and must be scheduled at least one month in advance. Please call the Faith Formation Office at Extension 214 to reserve space in the required Parent Preparation Class held on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. In preparation for this class please complete the Baptismal Form and bring it to the class.
COLUMBARIUM & CEMETERY
If you would like to reserve a columbarium niche or cemetery plot please contact Sandy Arend in the church office at 778-0600, Extension 203 for information or to obtain an application. Click here to download an application form. Parishioners have the option of acquiring the rights to interment in columbarium niches or cemetery plots with payment in full at the time of the reservation or through an Installment Payment Plan of $100/month. Fees are $1,500/$2,500 for a single/double niche or plot.
FREE ROSARY REPAIR SERVICE
Send your broken Rosaries in a padded envelope to: Betty and Dick Holden (November to April) 7930 Estero Blvd., Apartment 502, Fort Myers Beach, Fl 33931; (May to October) Crane Place, Simsbury, CT 06070. They will be repaired and returned within a week of receipt. Donations of old and broken Rosaries are also accepted which will be repaired and sent on to the missions. Include a note indicating if your Rosary is for repair and return or if it is a donation. In Florida, call 239-463-3993, in Connecticut call 860-658-6330; or send e-mail to holdenbnd@comcast.net

This will take you to the Holy Family page at Catholic Web. Once there, click on the "Bulletins Tab" and select the date of the bulletin you wish to read. You may become a member of Catholic Web and have the bulletin emailed to you each week. Select "Become a Member" on the left side of the page.
